Christian Marriage Problems With Procrastination

Procrastination can be a problem in a marriage. Let’s face it. Nobody likes someone who we feel we can’t rely on, especially if that procrastinator is your spouse. It will be difficult to keep a strong relation with that person, when you don’t feel like you can depend on them.

How do you overcome procrastination?

  • Identify the REAL cause of Procrastination. People procrastinate because they are trying to avoid something. In fact, procrastination is not the root of the problem. It is merely the fruit and symptom of fear. People usually procrastinate, because they are afraid that they will fail at something.
  • Create realistic action plan that you can do. After you figure out what you are afraid of, the next step is to find a way to accomplish your task. You have to be realistic to yourself as much as possible. Make a plan that you can actually keep. For instance, if you are planning to loose weight, create a work out schedules that will not interfere with your work.
  • Face your fear. The biggest reason why people procrastinate is fear of failure. Sooner or later you will have to face the inner demon. Convince yourself that you can do it. Where there’s a will there is a way. Don’t let your fear get the best out of you.
  • Stop making excuse. If you want something done bad enough, you will get it done no matter what. People often make up some excuse to explain why they fail to do something. Be honest with yourself.
